Kiss My Sass Eyeshadows - Minx, Sweet Tea, Tarnished Halo and Coma White Swatches & Review

Hey guys! If you've been following me on Instagram and Facebook, you've likely seen me post some makeup looks with Kiss My Sass Cosmetics in recent months. Kiss My Sass' owner, Elizabeth, reached out a while back to ask if I'd like to try some of her products and join her promo team and I've been really enjoying exploring more of the range as my previous experience with it was limited. Kiss My Sass has a lot to pick from, from the loose powder products to fragrances, bath products, pressed and poured cosmetics and more! I realised though that I've not actually gotten around to posting any swatches over here on the blog yet, so it's time to remedy that! Here are four of the loose eyeshadows to start with.

Product size:
Kiss My Sass' eyeshadows are available in two sizes: full size sifter jar (at least 1.2 grams by weight in a “5 gram” sifter jar, $6USD) or sample bag (approx. 1/4 tsp in a 2″ x 2″ zip bag, $2USD). You'll predominantly see me featuring the sample bags as I don't use most colours often enough to warrant a full size, but I do prefer the full size packaging. I'd love it if KMS introduced an inbetween size one day as sample bags do the job but aren't my favourite.

Formula overview:
I find that these shadows all hold up beautifully on their own, they have a velvety texture that lends itself well to blending and I often don't need an adhesive base to get the best performance from them. With an extensive neutral range (don't worry, there are plenty of colourful options too!) and user-friendly formula, I'd especially recommend these to anyone new to indie cosmetics.

Swatch notes:
All eyeshadow swatches are applied to bare skin (on the left) and over Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy (on the right) using a patting motion and photographed under daylight bulbs.

Minx is described as 'a light tan/beige with shimmer that shifts between pink & green'. Oh boy, does it shift! It was hard to capture she colour shift on my eyes on camera but it is very visible in real life - totally mesmerising, in fact! You can spot it in the first eye shot below and in the arm swatches above. Beautiful formula, run don't walk to snatch this one up if you love duochromes.

For this look, I used Minx on the lid, Coma White on the inner corner, Georgia Peach for the transition and Sweet Tea on the crease and lower lashline. The lashes are Ebay faux mink in the style A12.

Sweet Tea

Sweet Tea (discontinued) is a warm russet brown with copper shimmer. I'm pretty bummed that this was discontinued to be honest as I think it's perfect! The matte base makes it a great workhorse shade blended out in the crease or patted on the lid or lower lashline to bring out the shimmer. I'm not ashamed to admit that I bought a backup!

Tarnished Halo is described as 'a pale gray with a copper sheen (Sleepy Hollow's little sister)'. I ADORE the interplay of cool and warm tones here, it works very well. The formula performed wonderfully, too. If you plan on trying anything from Kiss My Sass, put this at the top of your list!

Coma White is described as 'a sheer white with a pink glow'. This versatile beauty has a matte base and can be built up or sheered out easily, so I've been quite enjoying it both packed on in the inner corner or lightly on the browbone. The pink glow adds a touch of complexity without being overwhelming. Love!

For this look, I used Coma White on the inner corner and browbone, Tarnished Halo on the inner half of the lid, Southern Roots on the outer half of the lid and outer third of the lower lashline, Sweet Tea on the crease and lower lashline and Georgia Peach to blend out. The lashes are Ebay faux mink in the style A19.
