ColourPop Lippie Stix - Im Yours, Sure Thing, Only You and Barely There Swatches & Review

In today's edition of 'ColourPop stuff I thought I'd review while it was still on the website but somehow it's been six months and they're long gone', I have four Lippie Stix to show you! Three of them are from the Valentine's Day collection and are in the revamped Creme formula, while the last one, Barely There is a discontinued Matte X. Why ColourPop insist on repeatedly discontinuing their best corals, I'll never know. Sigh.

The packaging for the Lippie Stix is a glossy white twist up slim tube with a slanted lip bullet. I really like the smaller surface area of this lipstick style as it allows more precision than your traditional larger teardrop shaped bullet. Each lipstick has a coloured end cap which matches the colour inside as well as a label with the name and finish.

Formula Overview:
The Lippie Stix formula seems to be divisive among makeup lovers but personally, on the whole, I really enjoy it. The shades I have to show you today are a mixture of Matte X and Creme. All are richly pigmented and comfortable on the lips, I didn't find any of them drying. The Matte X has a velvety, powdery feeling, but the Cremes... well, the original Creme finish was glossy and on the slippery side already but the new one is even slipperier. I felt that the colour moved around and showed demarcation lines when my lips pressed together more than I'd like as a result. I kind of wish they hadn't changed it! I guess it is more hydrating, but it's not like the originals were drying in the first place. Meh.
The Lippie Stix usually have a gorgeous chocolate chip cookie scent but the Cremes don't smell of anything (booooo).

Im Yours

I'm Yours (discontinued) is described as a 'light yellow nude' and has a Crème finish. I've been on a pale nude kick since discovering they weren't actually that scary a year or two ago but I didn't have many from ColourPop yet so I was excited for this one. It is very yellow, which makes me want to frantically whiten my teeth, but I love it as long as my mouth is closed! It lasted three hours on me and as you can probably see in the swatch, was one of the worst offenders for pulling into lines and shifting around on the lips.

Sure Thing

Sure Thing (discontinued) is described as a 'warm beige'. It's a great workhorse nude and one I've worn many times since buying it. I like that it's less slippery than I'm Yours, too. It lasted five hours on me.

Only You (discontinued) is described as a 'warm mocha'. I so want to love this colour on me, I've tried it with a few different makeup looks but I just can't get into it! Only You's longevity was the best of the three V-Day Cremes though, lasting six hours.

Barely There

Barely There (discontinued) is described as a 'warm-toned coral' and has a Matte X finish. Poor old Barely There launched with the Matte X formula but alongside Tickler and Topless, it soon got the boot. It's a great lippie that I'm very happy to have in my collection, it has stellar colour payoff and a super smooth texture. Barely There lasted six hours on me and wasn't drying.

What I liked:
  • Great colour payoff
  • They last for three-six hours on me
  • Barely There applied smoothly and evenly
  • Non-drying
What I didn't like:
  • Creme lipsticks are overly slippery, causing colour to move around on lips/form lines
Where to buy:
Have you tried any of these?
