Notoriously Morbid Eyeshadows - Glorious Honor, Hallelujah, Pure Passion, Garmonbozia & Ricktatorship Swatches & Review

This next batch of Notoriously Morbid eyeshadows is quite a mixture! They're mostly from the permanent line, with the exception of one limited edition shade and one that's discontinued, and while my usual preference for warm neutrals holds fast, there's still a bit of colour here too. I'd love to hear if you've tried any of these! Here's the usual rundown:

Packaging:
Notoriously Morbid have plenty of eyeshadow sizing options to suit everyone's preferences and budget. The mini-size ($2.75USD) has approx. 1/3 tsp of product in a 3g jar, the full size ($5.50USD) has approx. 1/2 to 3/4 tsp of product in a 5g jar and the deluxe size ($7.50USD) has approx. 1 to 1 1/4 tsp of product in a 10g jar. Personally, I always opt for the mini size, except where full size is the only option, as it's rare for me to finish an eyeshadow!

Formula overview:
I really enjoy Notoriously Morbid's eyeshadow formula. They're easy to work with, blend well, and are often completely unique to what's being put out by mainstream brands. Some shades, especially the more glittery ones perform best over a sticky base but can certainly be used on their own.

Swatch notes:
All eyeshadow swatches in this post are done two ways: applied on bare skin on the left hand side and over Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy, a sticky eyeshadow base which maximises colour intensity and sparkle, on the right. This is so you can see how they perform both ways. I take all of my photos with daylight bulbs for colour accuracy.

Glorious Honour (permanent) is a medium lavender purple with strong aqua shimmer and purple sparkles. I only recently realised I didn't have this in my collection and hurried to put it on as soon as it arrived, it's such a magical colour combination! A perfect ethereally iridescent inclusion in a fae-inspired collection (Seelie Court), it's quie pigmented alone but the sparkles and shimmer are more pronounced over a sticky base.

For this look, I've used Glorious Honor on the inner half of the lid, Always Your Girl on the crease, Class Protector to blend out, She's Got Gidget Hair for the transition, Crybaby on the inner corner, Rayne Brings Ripper on the lower lashline and Silent Samurai on the outer half of the lid. The faux mink lashes are from Ebay in the style A10

Hallelujah is described as 'a dirty brown with a blue sheen'. It comes from the Winchester Gospels collection and is inspired by everyone's favourite gravel-voiced angel, Castiel! The matte base makes it quite versatile as the shimmer will be more or less pronounced depending on your application and base. In the look below, I've used it over a sticky base on the lid and without any base on the lower lashline, so you can see the difference in the colour and shimmer intensity. With its soft, blendable formula and versatility, Hallelujah would make a great one-and-done shade!

Here, I've used Hallelujah all over the lid and lower lashline, He's Going Through Changes and She's Got Gidget Hair to blend out, Doll's Eye on the crease, So Goes My Nation on the browbone, Luck Dragon on the inner corner and High School Hellcat foiled for liner. The lashes are these ones from Ebay in the style LD202.

Garmbozia (discontinued) is a mustard yellow with pink shimmer. This is such an awesome colour and I'm glad I picked it up before it was discontinued last year (where has time even gone this year, seriously?!) as it's so unique. Itl ooks a little patchy over the sticky base in these swatches but I'm pretty sure that was just tape residue from previous swatches or something, because it applied flawlessly on the lids. Must use this again ASAP.

I've used It's the Riche on the inner third of the lid and inner corner here, with Garmonbozia on the outer two thirds, Shadow on the lower lashline and Logic Boy on the crease. The lashes are Ardell Demi Wispies.

Ricktatorship (discontinued) is a super sparkly chocolate brown and was the April 2016 COTM, I believe #foreverbehind. It's very pigmented and performs well both alone and over a base, I hope it makes a comeback someday!

For this look, I've used One. Big. Dark. Room on the lower lashline over smoked out black liner, Autumn Moon highlighter on the inner corner (alone) and on the inner half of the lid over a sticky base, Ricktatorship on the outer half of the lid, 314 and Doll's Eye on the crease, Bloody Awful Poet to deepen crease, She's Got Gidget Hair for the transition and It's the White Hats on the browbone. The lashes are these ones from Ebay in the style 208.

Pure Passion is described as 'a ruddy brown with gold, blue and green shimmer'. It's from the Unseelie Court collection (rivals to the Seelie Court) within the permanent range. This eyeshadow is so complex and I really haven't done it justice in the look below, which I'm not happy with in general, anyway. I want to use it as a main lid shade again soon but I am perpetually short on time and additional eyelids 😂 Pure Passion works best over a sticky primer, but the ruddy brown base colour buffs out to be quite pigmented.

I've used Bandit King on the lid for this look, with Pure Passion layered on the inner third of the lid and inner half of the lower lashline, Should I Stay on the outer half of the lower lashline, Gypsy Curse on the crease, She's Got Gidget Hair for the transition and It's the White Hats on the browbone and inner corner. The lashes are from Born Pretty Store.
