MAC MONDAY | Give Me Liberty of London - A Different Groove Lipglass Swatches & Review

Following on from my post about the MAC Give Me Liberty of London Lipsticks, today I have one of the Lipglasses from the collection to show you: A Different Groove. I used to have Perennial High Style, too and LOVED it but sadly it went walkabouts a long time ago! This collection was released in 2010 in collaboration with the iconic British brand, Liberty of London and featured their prints all over the glossy white packaging.

A Different Groove is described as a 'deep purple brown with pearl'. It's impressively opaque for a lipgloss but has a propensity to sink into liplines, making it appear slightly uneven. For this reason, it's a shade that I prefer to coordinate with a lip pencil, although I've shown it alone in these swatches. MAC's Lipglasses have been reformulated recently and I haven't tried the new ones to see the differences, but A Different Groove, being from 2010, is definitely of the old school Lipglass variety - thick and tacky, almost in a syrupy sort of way. It's not my favourite texture for lips but the tackiness does aid in providing a decent wear time; A Different Groove lasted five hours on me and was hydrating.

What I liked:
  • Lasted five hours on me
  • Hydrating
  • Doesn't feather or migrate
What I didn't like:
  • Colour payoff is slightly uneven
