Innocent + Twisted Alchemy Woo Me Eyeshadow Quad Swatches & Review

Innocent + Twisted Alchemy recently shared the sad news of their upcoming closure, with half price sales running on weekends until the shop shuts. The shop will be shut on weekdays to ship everything out, limiting your shopping options a bit but making for a quick turn around time! Innocent + Twisted Alchemy has been one of my favourite indies for several years and I'm so sorry to see them go. Before they go, though, I've got a bunch of reviews to catch up on, so let's start with the Woo Me Quad, which was the Valentines Day release this year. They're available individually or as a set while stocks last.

Formula overview:
The Innocent + Twisted formula is one of the best ones around; while some indies apply sheerly alone and really need a sticky base to pop, Innocent + Twisted Alchemy eyeshadows are generally wonderfully pigmented and easy to work with on their own. I do still like to use a sticky base most of the time for maximum sparkle and duochrome action (where applicable), but it's nice to know that they can be hastily swept on the lids as you're running out the door and they're still going to look good.

Swatch notes:
All eyeshadow swatches in this post are done two ways: applied on bare skin on the left-hand side and over Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy, a sticky eyeshadow base which maximises colour intensity and sparkle, on the right. This is so you can see how they perform both ways. I take all of my photos with daylight bulbs for colour accuracy.

Candied Hearts is a warm pink with gold sheen and fine pink sparkles. This shade is on the sheerer side when worn alone but the gold sheen makes it stand out beautifully over a sticky base. I love the versatility of Candied Hearts, the simple addition of an adhesive base transforms it so that you could easily use it with or without a base for different colour placements in the same look and get a multifaceted look. It's soft and blendable and would work well as a cheek highlighter, too.

I've used Candied Hearts (over Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy) on the lid, My Beloved highlighter on the inner corner, Kelsy on the crease and outer two thirds of lower lashline and Full On Monet on the inner third of the lower lashline. I also used a touch of Notoriously Morbid Too Good To Be True to blend out Kelsy and NM So Goes My Nation on the browbone. The lashes are Born Pretty Store mink #03

Fragile is a very warm goldenrod metallic, it looks quite orange on my arm and in the jar but appears more gold in action. I was surprised, but enamoured! Brilliant formula, I highly recommend it if you're a fan of warm metallics too.

Moments is a medium warm brown with subtle pink sparks and gold shimmer. Is it unique? Not terribly. But it's the kind of brown I just can't quit, delicious and sparkly and flattering. It performs well with or without a base although it's more strongly metallic with one.

I've used The Surgeon on the inner half of the lid here, Dysfunctional on the outer half of the lid, Fragile on the inner half of the lower lashline and Moments on the outer half of the lower lashline. I also used ColourPop Elixir and Cornelious for the transition and Fairfax on the crease, with Fyrinnae Jade Ghost on the inner corner. The false lashes are Born Pretty Store mink style 14

Bear, Bear is a smokey purple in a brown base. It kind of reminds me of Chanel Paradoxal nail polish, don't you agree? I really like this, but I wasn't so keen on how my eyeshadow look turned out, so it's skewing my feelings - I'll have to use Bear, Bear again soon! The brown base is really very subtly, adding more depth than anything else.

For this look, I've used Bear, Bear on the lower lashline, Face Hugger on the inner half of the lid, IM on the outer half of the lid and the Lorac Pro palette for the rest. The lashes are Born Pretty Store Mink style 15.
