Femme Fatale Cosmetics Blogger Collaboration Collection 2017 Swatches & Review

Femme Fatale are once again knocking it out of the park with their new releases! After last month's Emily de Molly collaboration and Indie Con exclusives, August brings a new blogger collaboration: three trios from three different bloggers who were able to design their dream colours and have them brought to life by Femme Fatale! I have two polishes from each trio to show you today.

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Blogger Collaboration Collection 2017 Swatches & Review

This year, Femme Fatale's chosen bloggers are Fashion Polish, Glitterfingersss and iLaeti. iLaeti is the only one I'm not familiar with already but I'm fixing that now - her swatches are gorgeous! The other two I have been following for years, so it's really exciting to see what their dream nail polishes look like. Here's the inspiration behind each trio:

Lexa/Glitterfingersss' Things To Love Trio - Aquatic, Aurora Borealis (not shown), Colour Crush:
Aquatic is inspired by forever place & theme – the sea and ocean life. Aurora Borealis by a place I would love to experience someday – the Northern Lights. And Colour Crush a fresh take on my favourite colour combination – teal and orange/copper.

Sam/Fashion Polish's Oxymora Trio - Bare Embellishments (not shown), Dusk Dazzle, Shadow Radiance:
The Oxymora trio reflects the contradiction in us and around us. I wanted to express the complexity of nature (and by extension in human nature) and how it is possible to find love and beauty in the most unexpected places.  How brilliance and be found in darkness or sophistication in simplicity.

Laetitia/iLaeti’s trio The Animal Lovers - Bear, Cat's Eye (not shown), Flamingo Feather:
I chose this theme obviously because I like animals! They have always been a part of my life (cats, dogs, birds when I was a child), they kept me company in harder times, and they always had a large place in my heart (you probably already noticed on Instagram).
Today, I am a grown-up, with grown-up responsibilities and problems; most of the time I come home from work all stressed out but the second I open my door and see my cats greeting me, all the worries go away and my thoughts are focused on this instinctive relationship. This is what they bring me: a peaceful (and fun!) environment. This is why I love them and care about their well-being.
This feeling of respect and admiration I have does not only go towards (my) cats, all animals are strong, fascinating, mysterious, gracious, unapologetic… they just are.

Packaging:
Each 9ml lacquer comes in a customised collaboration box with the blogger’s logo, media information and is the colour of their choice.

Swatch notes:
I do not use a base coat for my swatches and top coat is used where noted. Everything was photographed using a three point lighting set up under daylight bulbs.

Bear

Femme Fatale - Bear, 2 coats + top coat

Bear ($13.50AUD) is described as 'a rich warm brown linear holographic packed with warm iridescent flakes, golden holographic microglitter. A jelly formula that should be opaque in 2 coats.' In real life, it did look completely opaque in two coats but under my studio lights, you can see some balding where my ridges are more prominent (damn you, ridges!). I detect a mauve tint to the warm brown that is really flattering, it's not quite the chocolate brown that I expected from the bottle. It was pretty smooth alone but I added top coat to showcase the sparkle.

Femme Fatale - Flamingo Feather, 3 coats + top coat

Flamingo Feather ($13.50AUD) is described as 'a strong coral crème with a hint of strawberry pink tones, fine golden shimmer, holographic particles and fine holographic microglitter.' Thin coats are recommended for this shade so that the opacity of the creme base doesn't overwhelm the holo shimmer and the formula cooperated beautifully to achieve this. It does dry a little dull so I used top coat for this swatch. This is a close second to Colour Crush for my favourite in this release!

Femme Fatale - Shadow Radiance, 3 coats + top coat

Shadow Radiance ($13.50AUD) is described as 'a soft grey base with strong warm tones that lean it to having a hint of brown, red glow, scattered holographic particles, iridescent microglitters and a gorgeous layer of red-green shifting iridescent flakes.' This is a wonderfully complex nail polish and reflects the name perfectly. With the colour shifting flakies and holographic sparkle, it shows off different sides of itself depending on the lighting situation. It built up to opacity readily with three coats.

Femme Fatale - Dusk Dazzle, 3 coats

Dusk Dazzle ($13.50AUD) is described as 'a velvety warm purple crelly base with soft copperish glow, scattered holographic flakes and holographic particles.' I like this one best out of the Oxymora trio, the base colour is positively swoon-worthy - I need this as an eyeshadow colour too, stat! Even a lip colour. Heck, just cover my whole body in it. I LOVE IT. The formula is great, very smooth, even and opaque in three coats, plus look how shiny it is even without top coat!

Colour Crush

Femme Fatale - Colour Crush, 3 coats + top coat

Colour Crush ($13.50AUD) is described as 'A rich, deep forest green crelly base that leans to an almost-teal, with copper glow, red-copper chrome flakes, scattered holographic orange glitters and ultra-fine burnished copper shimmers.' It's my absolute favourite from this release, the copper and green colour combination is stunning, even more so in real life! I found Colour Crush really easy to work with, although you can see a few bald spots around my more prominent ridges, these aren't the fault of the polish and would be resolved with a ridge-filling base coat.

Femme Fatale - Aquatic, 4 coats + top coat

Aquatic ($13.50AUD) is described as a 'striking deep grey crelly base with blow luminescent glow, scattered holographic particles, rich sapphire holographic microglitters and iridescent blue flakies. A crelly formula that starts out sheer but builds up nicely with 3 coats.' I struggled to reach opacity in three coats and needed a fourth to even everything out, though it's worth noting that I didn't use a base coat for this swatch, which can affect opacity. The sheer formula does give Aquatic incredible depth though and the layering wasn't too strenuous as it flows on smoothly without pulling at previous layers. The iridescent flakies really stand out to me, they're subtle but glint beautifully as they catch the light.
