MAC Monday: Heatherette - Sock Hop and Style Minx Lipglass Swatches & Review08:00
Purchased by me/Contains affiliate links
We're going classic MAC today with two lipglasses from the much lauded 2008 Heatherette collection! With its flamboyant neon pink packaging and silver holographic discoball detailing, this is still one of my favourite MAC collections of all time.
Swatched on bare skin under daylight bulbs
MAC's lipglasses come in 4.8g tubes with a doefoot applicator. They have a vanilla scent and a thick, tacky consistency that you either love or hate (or flip flop constantly like I do) but it generally helps them to last a bit longer than your average lipgloss, depending on the colour. I find the formula to be somewhat hydrating.
Sock Hop is a 'soft mid-tone coral', definitely on the orange side of coral. It pulls into my liplines visibly, though it's not so obvious from normal viewing distance, and it has semi opaque colour pay off. It wore for three hours on my and was moisturising.
Style Minx is a fuchsia pink with fine purple shimmer and mostly opaque colour pay off. It wore for just under three hours on me, with most of the colour disappearing toward the end of wear to leave behind shine. It was very hydrating and did not feather or migrate.
What I liked:
- Style Minx has great colour pay off
- Both shades wore for three hours
- Sock Hop has semi opaque, even colour pay off
What I didn't like:
- Tacky consistency
- Sock Hop pulls into
- MAC Cosmetics (US)
- Specktra.net Clearance Bin
- Facebook sales groups
- Trade Me
