MAC Monday: MAC X Kelly Osborne - Strip Poker Lipstick Swatches & Review

08:00

Purchased by me

Hey lovelies,

I've been chipping away at completing my Kelly Osborne lipstick collection, this time with a shade that's really outside the box for me - Strip Poker. Funny how I can be so much more comfortable in purple or teal lipstick than a pale nude!

I love the packaging of these lipsticks. I showed it side by side with the vintage MAC Dame Edna collection which it harkens to in this post

MAC Monday: MAC X Kelly Osborne - Strip Poker Lipstick Swatches & Review

Strip Poker is a pale peachy nude with a Matte finish. I usually have good luck with MAC's Mattes but Strip Poker's paleness made it particularly unforgiving. This swatch was taken after I'd exfoliated my lips and you can see it still doesn't look perfect. I do like it, but I'm unsure that it flatters me. I think I need to play around with some more eye and lip combinations!
When I tested Strip Poker for wear, it lasted for four hours before fading evenly and was minimally drying. The texture was creamy enough to make it easy to apply and the opacity was good too.

If you love this shade, it's unfortunately no longer on counters but has been popping up regularly in Facebook sales groups. I bought mine from this one.

What I liked:
  • Great colour payoff
  • Good opacity
  • Lasts four hours
  • Easy to apply, doesn't skip or drag

What I didn't like:
  • Emphasises flaws
  • Minimally drying

  1. I love all of my MAC nudes lipsticks, but this one looks like a lip concealer on me!

  2. I have very similar colouring to you Lani, and I'm nervous about wearing nude lip colours, too! I think this one looks lovely and natural on you, though, I'm enjoying rocking deep purples lately too, especially as it's autumn where I live now :D
