MUA Out There Plumping Lip Gloss - Shocking Pink, Sienna & Pin Up Pink Swatches & Review

14:42

Hey lovelies,

Today I have several of MUA's Out There Plumping lip glosses to share with you. Here's what MUA has to say about these glosses:

Make a statement this season with these pout perfect plumping lip glosses. Follow the catwalk craze by keeping your make up neutral and pop those lips with these pout pleasing products from MUA Professional. Whether you’re after a bold Shocking Pink, bang on trend Sienna tangerine tone or cotton Candy Pink hue; these seven sensational shades cover the looks for less this season.
Each sensuous shade contains maxi lip© plumping agents for a natural looking pout with a non sticky formula!

The gloss comes in a long thin tube with a doefoot applicator. The volume isn't stated on the packaging or on the website, that I could see. I purchased Sienna, Shocking Pink and Pin Up Pink.

Swatched on bare skin.

Sienna is a sheer coral with lots of gold shimmer and is probably my favourite colour of the three. It does have the tendency to settle into liplines and is difficult to get even, so it would benefit from a coral lipliner underneath. If only coral lipliners weren't so hard to come by!

I found the FOTD below featuring this gloss which for some reason I hadn't posted. The only thing I can remember is that I used this lipgloss on my lips and Lime Crime Nymph Magic Dust as a highlight for my eyeshadow!

Shocking Pink swatches well on my arm but is very difficult to get even on the lips. I applied multiple layers to get the look you see here. I have tried layering it over a lipliner however my only pink lipliner was too dark for it. I shall persevere! While it looks like a creme gloss in the tube and on the lips, it has a very subtle sparkle which you can see at the top of my arm swatch above.

Pin Up Pink is a sheer neutral raspberry pink. Like the other Out There glosses I tried, it took a few layers to get the opacity you see here. I prefer layering this colour over lipliner; if you'd like to see what that looks like you can find a FOTD post featuring Pin Up Pink over NYX Pinky lipliner here.

The Out There line of glosses boast maxi lip plumping agents as described by MUA at the top of the post. Basically this means that they plump your lips by irritating them - this process providing a tingling sensation which isn't painful but it isn't particularly pleasant either. The best way to describe it is annoying! The tingling sensation isn't lessened by layering it over lipliner.

I love the colours of these glosses, but I don't like that they all take multiple layers to get even when worn alone and settle into lip lines a lot. I do like these glosses but the tingling really bugs me so I haven't been reaching for them too often.

MUA Out There Plumping Glosses are available on their website for £2.00 - there are several other colours to choose from too. They ship internationally at a flat rate, which is great for group orders! Our NZ polish group on Facebook has done a few group orders that way.

Have you tried these glosses? Did you like them?

  1. I don't get any tingling when I wear mine! Not like this other lip gloss I have, from either Maybelline or Cover Girl, it feels like my lips are going to burn off :/

    1. Oh, weird! I guess we have different levels of sensitivity to the plumping agents? Burning sounds awful!
