Lollipops Paris - Paris Sera Toujours Paris Eyeshadow - Swatch & Review

08:00

Hey lovelies,

Today I have a stunning eyeshadow to share with you that I wouldn't have been able to get my hands on without the help of the amazing Danielle from Domestic Minxes. The Lollipops Paris range was only in Farmers stores here in NZ briefly before going on clearance recently, and I was horrified when this eyeshadow, which had been love at first sight, was sold out in stores all over Wellington before I could nab one. The store wasn't allowed to sell their tester (yep, I was that desperate!) and I couldn't find anywhere to buy it online, so I thought I'd have to give up... until I asked my polish addict group on Facebook if they could check their stores, just in case. A few days later, Danielle messaged me to say victory was ours - she'd found it! Thank you, Danielle!!

I don't know if this is the official name of the eyeshadow, but 'Paris sera tourjours Paris' is printed several times on the packaging, so I'm rolling with that! Google tells me Paris sera toujours Paris translates to 'Paris will always be Paris'. That goes nicely with the gorgeous packaging! Speaking of...

The eyeshadow is boxed in a study pink cardboard compact, which closes magnetically. It has a little ribbon at the front to pull it open, and more pink ribbon inside acting as a hinge. The outside of the compact is printed with Parisian buildings and when opened, a portion of the same scene is printed on the inside, only close up this time. There is also a little pop up tree, cat and woman - so freaking adorable!
In my opinion, the only downfall to this eyeshadow is that the compact doesn't stay open by itself - as you can see, I'm holding it open for the picture. This means I have to hold the compact open while applying my make up, but it's not really a big deal.

The eyeshadow itself is a generously sized 36mm - that's identical in size to MUA's single Pearl eyeshadows (for reference, MAC eyeshadows are 26mm).

The eyeshadow itself is smooth and pigmented - it reminds me of MAC's Veluxe Pearl eyeshadows although this is slightly more textured, not as buttery soft. I've been using it as both an eyeshadow and a cheek highlight and it works wonderfully both ways. The shimmer is fine enough to lend a glow to cheeks without enhancing pores.
The colour is what you'd get if MAC's Gleam eyeshadow and Vanilla pigment had a baby - sheer pink with a hint of peach, and lots of glowing gold sheen. Love.

If you spot this one on clearance, grab it quickly! It's just too good to miss.

X
Lani
