Christmas Goodies!

Gifted/Contains affiliate links

Hey lovelies,

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. This is a scheduled post as I'm currently en route to Great Barrier Island for a week or so. Gosh I love the Barrier, I can't wait!

Today I'd like to share some of the pretty things I was gifted for Christmas.

Noel got me the Sleek Original palette. It's so sparkly and pretty! I've included some quick swatches because I couldn't wait to play with it. This will be so fun for New Year's make up.

Mike got me three gorgeous Lynnderella polishes! I got to pick them out a few months ago and it's been pure torture knowing they were in my closet just begging to be used! The CND solar oil and file came in a Christmas cracker that my Mum custom made. She's fabulous, I've been wanting to try the solar oil!

Mike also got me this stunning Lime Crime Uniliner in Rhyme. Ooh, I might have to use this for New Year's too. Perhaps a shimmery lid and stacked liner? I suppose there's no such thing as too much bling on New Year's! And Casey got me MAC Charmed I'm Sure from the recent Marilyn Monroe collection. I was so sad when the lippies sold out our local counter before I got a chance to check them out, so I'm so excited to receive this!

I got myself a few treats too :D Here is Sleek's Au Naturel palette. Swatches are on their way!

I also picked up Wet 'N' Wild's Vanity palette and Essie She's Picture Perfect . I've already used Vanity a few times, it is lovely!

Finally, I ordered some Wet N Wild Mega Last Matte lipsticks from Beautyjoint last night. I've never ordered from Beautyjoint before, so hopefully it all goes well. I purchased 4 lipsticks for myself: Pinkerbell, Cherry Picking, Cherry Bomb and Red Velvet. Casey also jumped in on the order and grabbed Don't Blink Pink (may have to do a cheeky swatch of that one!). Lastly I threw China Glaze Strawberry Fields into my cart for the lovely Zoe as she'd just recently mentioned it was top on her China Glaze wishlist. I was a bit annoyed that they didn't have the China Glaze Holiday Joy collection though, I was hoping to cross Glitter All the Way off my list. Ah well!

What do you think of my goodies? Did you get any beauty goodies for Christmas?

Accidental Haul + Holidays!

Purchased by me/contains affiliate links

Hey lovelies,

Today I'm off to the Boxing Day sales with my sister Casey! I'm super excited to go shopping for clothes while Noel is with his grandparents. Casey is threatening to scowl a lot and scold me if I buy 'too much' cosmetics and polish though. Too much?? Is there such a thing?!

Anyway, I wanted to share an accident haul I did while picking up last minute gifts for others on the 23rd. I popped into Bling to see what they had, and lo and behold, BYS polishes were $5 each with a Buy Two Get One Free special. So I stocked up! Here's what I got:

L-R Revlon Spice It Up, BYS Glitter Amethyst, BYS Diamond Glitter Cobalt & Rose, BYS Diamond Glitter Silk, BYS Black & Gold, BYS Diamond Glitter Rubies & Sapphires, BYS Pretty As A Peach

I have a feeling I'll be picking up a few more BYS polishes if the sale is still on today :D To be fair, not all of these are for me. Some will be gifted to Dana :)

While I was shopping on the 23rd I also popped into Postie for bubble mixture for Noel, and mini shampoo/conditioner sets for travelling. Of course I can never leave Postie Plus with just the things I came for, and also came away with a new Bourjois mascara and a Revlon nail polish (pictured above) that I was dithering over at the make up sale last week. Now it's mine, all mine! It's Spice It Up, it's a shimmery rich red leaning brown - or is it a brown leading red?

The Bourjois mascara I picked up was 1001 Lashes, but I've popped Black & Diams, which I picked up a few weeks ago in the picture too. 1001 Lashes was $6 and I really like it so far. Black & Diams was $6 at the Kilbirnie Postie Plus store, but $10 in the Palmerston North store - not sure what that's about. Full reviews for the Bourjois mascaras will be posted once I return from holiday.

We're leaving for our holiday at 5AM tomorrow morning - eeeeeeeek. We'll be gone until the 5th, but I'm trying to schedule some posts quickly before I go. I'm looking forward to returning refreshed and ready to get back to daily blogging in the new year!

Stay safe and enjoy your holidays!

My Polish Elf Gift!

Purchased by me/Contains affiliate links

Hey lovelies,

Another late night post! I'm becoming quite the night owl in the lead up to Christmas, regularly working til 2 or 3 am on Christmas craft. Good thing Noel likes big sleep ins, or I'd be a total zombie! At the moment it's nothing some Black V can't cure ;)
I started a group on Facebook for my fellow kiwi polish addicts a while back, and it's so much fun. The girls (and boy!) are all such sweethearts. We've been organising stash clear-outs, sharing news of sales, discussing lemmings and all sorts. Recently we organise a secret santa - but we dubbed our version Polish Elves instead!
Lisa from Never Ending Obsession was my Polish Elf, and she very sweetly dropped my gifts off on Monday night. Sadly for me, I was at work, which meant Mike got excited calls from me asking him to check the front porch and bring the treasures safely inside. Once I knew they were there, the night stretched out soooo much longer!! But finally it was home time and I got to open my prezzies.
First of all, sorry for the crappy photos. It was late (10:30) and I just couldn't wait til morning. There was no way the cupcakes were lasting til morning! I couldn't even resist eating 1 of the 5 before taking this photo!

Oh my god, the cupcakes were sooooooo good. I'm hungry again looking at this photo. Lisa, you can come live in my kitchen! :D

Polish! Lisa gifted me Essence Chic Reloaded, Sally Hansen Lavender Sky, Nubar Meadow Sparkle, GOSH Golden Dragon and Cirque Dark Horse(!!!!). There's also an IOU for Daring Digits Master Shake. Holy crap right? I am soooo lucky! Thank you Lisa!

Noel enjoying a cupcake. Okay, he has an awkward chewing face here, but he was saying "mmmmmm, mmmmmm!" happily the whole time!

Glitttaaaa macro!
I nabbed Candy Sprinkles while Christmas shopping last week after Nicola from Leona Carolina gave the polish group the heads up that Postie had new LA Colors polishes. It's so gorgeous! It was just about perfect in 2 coats but I decided to add a third for extra depth. I think I might leave it at 2 next time though, as it looked a little more delicate that way. I also had to grab a bottle of this for the lovely Zoe, who I Polish Elfed for. Share the glitter love!

Finally, I had to share this picture of my crazy boy. I just got a new ELF liquid eyeliner (review on its way!) and Noel got creative the second I turned my back. I think he's rocking it, heehee!
Man, I can't wait for tomorrow. I'm catching up with Annemarie from Gimikd Girl and hitting up a cosmetics clearance sale, which hopefully will have some awesome polish for us! The word from Lisa was that they only had shatters but I'm crossing my fingers that they will have restocked overnight. Generally they keep extra boxes of stock under the tables that they bring out over the couple of days those sales run, so I'm remaining optimistic. I'm kind of hoping to get over to Postie and the op shops in Kilbirnie too to get summer clothes for Noel & I, but I may run out of time. Wish me luck!

Have a great day!

More Christmas Nails + Christmas Craft!

Purchased by me/Swap/Contains affiliate links

Hey lovelies,

Sorry I've been so absent of late. I've been tied up Christmas shopping and crafting, which means I've actually been wearing manis for a few days at a time! Shock horror! But today I'm bringing you some more Christmas nails, plus pics of what I've been crafting.

Let's start with the nails! I started with China Glaze Red Satin, a lush, juicy red from China Glaze's Holiday Joy collection. Then I added Shuffle the Deck by Spoiled, which I received in a swap from Dana over at Polished Claws Up. She is so darn sweet! Shuffle the Deck is pretty awesome.

Since I'm no good at nail art, today I wanted to do something more my speed. So for today's Christmas mani, I did a reverse glitter gradient. Man, I love glitter gradients! This is so me.
